‘I Am Scared But It Won’t Stop Me From Saying The Truth’ -DJ Switch Speaks On Death Threats

DJ Switch has recounted her EndSARS experience and the Lekki Toll Gate shootings which happened over a week ago.

In a chat with GQ.com, the rapper/DJ  said she is currently on the run after she revealed an anonymous call from someone who threatened her life.

She also revealed that a friend in the intelligence community advised her to disappear for her safety.

Switch vividly recalled the horrific events of that Tuesday, October 20 after she recorded the shooting live on her Instagram.

They didn’t announce why they were there or ask protesters to leave the scene. Instead, “they came in guns blazing,” she says. Some protesters fled. Others stayed, curled into the fetal position, and began singing Nigeria’s national anthem. “As I was laying there, a bullet landed right next to my face,” Switch says. “I have the shell with me.”

“I thought I was going to die, so let’s make sure the world sees this so they don’t change the story and tell people that we killed ourselves…I didn’t want us to die in vain.” she added.

When asked if she is worried about her safety, she said:

“Of course, I’m frightened,” she admits. “I can’t even lie about that. I’m scared. It doesn’t stop me from saying the truth. I’m still going to say it, and I just hope I’m not going to die.”

“There is no recorded change in the history of this world that people have not had to sacrifice blood for,” she says. “Nobody wants it, but it just happens to always be like that because, for some reason, people with power don’t want to let go.”
