
Before her popularity came to light, not much was known about the practice of sex and intimacy therapy in Nigeria. It is safe to say Jaruma, entrepreneur and CEO of Jaruma Empire, changed the industry even though it was initially met with criticism.
Here are some things to know about the controversial sex therapist.
1. Jaruma, real name Hauwa Saidu Mohammed, was born on the 26th of October, 1993.
2. She hails from the Billiri local government area of Gombe state.
3. She attended New Capital Nursery and Primary School and Nigeria International College, both in Abuja.
4. She was admitted into Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 2007 but left after three years to study international relations and human therapy at Istanbul Kultur University, Turkey.
5. She has two Bachelor’s degrees and double majors.
6. Jaruma speaks four languages.
7. She started her business by selling hair and dresses from 2010 to 2016. She also sold properties in Abuja, and the savings from it were saved up to start JAARUMA EMPIRE.
8. She started a YouTube channel in 2016 to promote the therapeutic benefits of the Azanza Garckeana plant, also known as silky kola, gorontula, and African chewing gum, and it became the most phenomenal discovery and highest-grossing product in Nigeria when it was released in 2017.
9. Jaruma holds the record for encouraging the largest number of women to test for ALL vaginal infections as well as pelvic cancer before using her products.
10. Widely regarded as Nigeria’s highest-paid sex therapist, Jaruma nets over ten million naira every month from selling her products to men and women.
11. She gives back to society through paying school fees, providing fertilizers for farmers, giving food to rural dwellers, youth empowerment, and numerous giveaways on her Instagram page.
12. She is also called by these names: Queen Jaaruma, Queen J, The Magician, Therapist, Relationship Expert, Princess or Queen of Ningi, Maami, and Marriage Guru.
13. She has a love for food, designer bags, shoes, jewelry, luxurious vacations, and luxury destinations.
14. She is married to a billionaire, Fahad Isabor, but they divorced in 2021. She welcomed a set of twins in September 2019.
