Joheirry Mola Dominguez of the Dominican Republic has been crowned the winner of Miss World 2026 in Vietnam at the 73rd Miss World pageant, held on Saturday, September 5, in Nha Trang, Vietnam.
Her victory marked the second time the Dominican Republic has produced a Miss World, 44 years after Mariasela Álvarez won the title in 1982.
Spain’s Elisabeth Reynés Alabern emerged first runner-up, while Malaysia’s Taanusiya Chetty was named second runner-up and was also named winner of the Beauty with a Purpose project for her humanitarian work.
The 24-year-old holds a degree in Business Management and Administration from Universidad Iberoamericana and is the founder and president of Voices of Tomorrow, through which she promotes English education for children and young people in vulnerable communities.
She also teaches literature and social studies in English and works as a correspondent for Univision New York’s Ventana a Quisqueya, where she covers Dominican culture, social issues, and community stories.
Dominguez, who is also a professional model and Goya Gives Ambassador, says her personal motto is “The greatest gift you can offer is the opportunity that you once needed yourself to grow, move forward, and transform your life.”
Nigeria’s representative at the 2026 Miss World pageant, Tamunosoye Karibi-George, finished among the Top 12, while South Africa’s Romanda Hombir was crowned Miss World Africa.

Hombir, a 27-year-old clinical audiologist from Mpumalanga, earned the continental title after winning the African Head-to-Head Challenge, which secured her a place in the Top 40. She then progressed through the quarterfinals and semifinals to reach the top six finalists, the highest placement for South Africa at Miss World since Rolene Strauss won the crown outright in 2014.
Eritrea’s Snit Habteab Tewoldemedhin reached the Top 6, marking Eritrea’s debut at Miss World.
