Medical doctor, entrepreneur, public speaker and influencer, Dr. Adanna Steinacker has been appointed as the new Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to President Bola Tinubu on Women’s Health.

Making the announcement via her LinkedIn page on Tuesday, January 14, she wrote.

It is with a profound sense of duty, humility, and gratitude that I  announce my appointment as the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the President of Nigeria on Women’s Health.

This role is an immense honour and a solemn call to service, a unique opportunity to champion the health and well-being of women and girls across Nigeria and, indeed, the African continent. It is my deepest hope to contribute by building on the remarkable progress already made, strengthening ongoing efforts, and guiding transformative solutions that address critical health needs and empower future generations.

For over a decade, I have devoted myself to this mission—advocating for gender equality, closing health gaps, and empowering women through education and community building. Through impactful partnerships with organisations such as the United Nations, Google, Gates Foundation, YouTube, and Goals House, I have worked to amplify initiatives that prioritise women’s health and prosperity. This appointment represents a continuation of that journey—a chance to scale these efforts and champion women’s health as a cornerstone of Nigeria’s economic and social development.

Born March 2, 1988, Adanna Steinacker nee Ohakim hails from Imo State, Nigeria. She is the daughter of politician and former governor of Imo State, Ikedi Ohakim and has a twin sister named Adanma. Dr. Steinacker founded Medics Abroad, an international healthcare startup providing logistics for clinical placements in Africa to medics around the world. She is also the Co-Founder of the digital consultancy company Adanna David Digital Ltd., under which she runs her social media platforms, including her YouTube channel ‘House of Adanna’ which has over 300,000 subscribers.

She has been featured as the keynote speaker at various conferences, including the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting, the United Nations Climate Change Conference, and the Goalkeepers Initiative by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

In 2021, Adanna became the first Black female entrepreneur to be selected for the Enterprise Ireland Female High Fliers Programme, the leading incubator for female entrepreneurs in Ireland.

She is married to her university sweetheart, David Steinacker, a German business consultant, and they have three children, two boys and a girl.
