Nollywood actress, Adejumoke Aderounmu has died. The actress rose to prominence for her role as ‘Esther’ in the popular Jenifa Diaries series.

A Nigerian filmmaker, Seun Oloketuyi confirmed the news on his Instagram today, Monday, April 8, 2024.

A family member of the former star of the hit series Jenifa’s Diary, Jumoke Aderounmu has tweeted that the budding Actress is dead. Details are still sketchy. May she find peace with her maker,” his Instagram post said.

The cause of her death was, however, not disclosed.

Here are some facts to know about her.

1. Adejumoke Aderounmu was born on March 26 in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

2. She attended St. Benardettes Private Schools, Ibara Abeokuta for her primary education before proceeding to Abeokuta Girls Grammar School, Onikolobo for her secondary education.

3. She graduated from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State before proceeding to Gombe State for her national youth service.


4. Aderounmu began her acting career in Tunde Kelani’s Arugba in 2008, where she played the role of Princess Mobandele.

5. She worked as an on-air personality at Goldmyne Entertainment Presenter for ‘The Box Office TV Show’  under Daniel Ademinokan in 2010/2011.

6. Her role in the comedy series, Jenifa’s Diary however shot her to prominence.

7. She acted in over ten movies and series some of which include Arugba, The Unwritten 1 &2, Dazzling Mirage, Wings of My Dreams, Alakada 2, The Ex, Industreet, Gone and La Femme Anjola.

8. She worked at Concert Radio (an online Radio station in Nigeria) from 2012 until 2015.

9. She was certified in Film Making and Acting from the La Cinefabrique multimedia Cine in Lyon, France in 2017 after she won a Ford Foundation scholarship at the Africa International Film Festival at her completion of a DSLR Film Making Training For Young Nigerian Film Makers in 2016.

10. She bagged a number of her awards in her career some of which include:
