It is not every time you meet a software engineer that is deaf or has a hearing impairment.
This is the story of Adeyinka Adegbenro, a deaf software engineer in Lagos.
Adeyinka wasn’t born deaf.
Her ordeal started at age 20 and fresh out of university when she developed a swelling along the right side of her face.
The swelling subsided but, one morning, she woke up and the world was silent and that began the beginning of her battle with deafness.
In this chat with Channels TV, Adeyinka details the challenges she faces on a regular basis as a deaf person in Nigeria.
