Nigerian TV Presenter Set to Break Guinness Record For Longest Marathon Television Talk Show


Amuda Mariam joins the growing list of Nigerians who are attempting Guinness World Records

TV presenter Amuda Mariam also known as Marygold is set to attempt the Guinness World record for the longest marathon television talk show in 100 hours.

She revealed this at a media parley in Lagos on Wednesday, December 6, where she noted that she had gotten approval from the world record body for her attempt.

The 100-hour show will be held from the 16th to the 20th of December 2023 and will take place at 1, Taiwo Adekunle Street, off Coker Street, Ogba, Lagos. It will also be broadcast live on Nigezie Xtreme, Startime Channel 427.

The longest marathon talk show was achieved by NOVA24TV (Slovenia) in 73 hours and 23 minutes, hosted by Boris Tomašič in Ljubljana, Slovenia, from September 24 to 27, 2023.

The television talk show host interviewed a different guest each hour, and a live audience consisting of more than ten people was present during the duration of the whole attempt.

Amuda while officially announcing via her Instagram handles, said her goal is to interview over 100 guests in 100 hours.


She also used the opportunity to solicit the support of Nigerians, especially the media houses and colleagues in the industry to come out in masse and support her through the journey to achieve the feat.
