Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade, Other Nigerian Artistes To Feature In Beyonce’s Lion King Album

It is no longer news that one of the most anticipated movies of 2019,  Lion King is set to premiere in cinemas July 19.

More worthy of note is the fact that Beyonce plays the character of ‘Nala’  in the movie has featured some African artistes on the Disney produced 14-song album.

The Nigerian artistes on the album are Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade, Burna Boy, Tekno and Mr Eazi.

Other African acts on ‘The Lion King: The Gift’ notably are Moonchild Sanelly, Busiswa, Salatiel, and Shatta Wale.

Beyonce while speaking about the album said, “I wanted to make sure we found the best talent from Africa. Not just use some of the sounds and do my interpretation of it.

“This soundtrack is a love letter to Africa. I wanted it to be authentic about what is beautiful about the music in Africa,” she said.

The album is executively produced by Beyonce, and its release is slated for July 19, 2019, via Parkwood Entertainment in conjunction with Columbia Records.
