Actress Bisola Badmus Reveals Battle With Brain Disease Called Encephalopathy


  • The actress revealed that she has battled with a brain disease known as encephalopathy for about a year.

Popular Yoruba actress Bisola Badmus has opened up about her battle with a brain disease called encephalopathy.

Encephalopathy refers to any disturbance of the brain’s functioning that leads to problems like confusion and memory loss. The disease which causes brain dysfunction can appear as confusion, memory loss, personality changes, and/or coma in its most severe form.

The actress, who turned a year older on Monday, revealed this via her Instagram page.

In the emotional-laden post, she said she had been battling with the disease for over a year adding that she lost her mother amid her health challenges. She also thanked friends and family who stood by her.

“Thank you Lord for another amazing year to celebrate my new age in sound health,” she said.

“Over a year now I have been battling with health issues (Encephalopathy). I cannot even wish my enemy such illness. It was a tough one indeed.

“That made me to stay off social media for a long while now. In between, I lost my precious mother. Unquestionable God I thank you for everything particularly for me to witness yet another birthday of mine.


“I say thank you for keeping me alive till this moment because if not for God Almighty where would I have been?

“I will be ungrateful soul if I fail to appreciate the amazing people that stood by me during the challenging period.

“My family and friends, my colleagues in the movie industry, business associates and the brands I represent. Thank you all.”
