Following Busola Dakolo’s rape case dismissal, Nigerians have taken to Twitter in reaction to the news.
In a court hearing today, the case against Fatoyinbo was thrown out as Busola was also asked to pay N1million for damages.

No matter the cause, one of the effects of this judgment in Busola Dakolo’s case is that a lot of women who are the victims of sexual assault will think “What if I lose & I’m asked to pay a fine?” before they determine not to speak up.

This Busola Dakolo case is very sad cause her voice gave strength to many survivors to speak up. This case being thrown out as it was will make survivors lose hope again in the justice system. Not just cause they might lose but they might have to pay their rapist for “damages”

Now more than ever women will be forced to keep quiet if they’ve been abused so they don’t end up going through public ridicule and paying fine.

I’ve been laughing since I heard the news.The same court that has been VERY slow to persecute Senator Elisha Abbo with unnecessary adjournments and excuses.

Update: Busola Dakolo V. Biodun Fatoyinbo. The clerk called the lawyers of Busola Dakolo late last night notifying them of the judge’s ruling on the preliminary objection today. As expected, a mockery of our processes and law was the case as the drama unfolds.
