Dr. Anuoluwapo Olufunmi Adepoju popularly known as Dr. Anu has been indefinitely suspended by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) from the medical profession in Nigeria.
The suspension order was issued by the Medical and Dental Practitioners Investigation Panel pursuant to powers conferred on it by s15(3)c of the Medical and Dental Practitioners Act Cap M8 LFN 2004 and takes effect from 5th November 2020.
Dr. Anu runs Med Contour Clinic and has been in the news at various times this year for carrying out illegal plastic surgeries. A popular one is the failed surgery with a popular influencer, OmohTee which went viral in April 2020.
She was arrested and charged to court in July.
She graduated from the College of Medicine, University of Lagos (CMUL) in 2017, and by December 2018, she carried out a Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery procedure on a patient who later developed complications and died from the complications.
She was a House Officer (a young medical graduate in training) when she carried out the procedure.
It is pending the determination of the case by the Medical and Dental Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal.
Her suspension is till further notice.
