Women are underrepresented in tech in Africa and that is a fact.
To ensure gender equality, two female tech experts have come together to create an initiative that will change the game for women in tech.
Odun Eweniyi (COO/Co-founder of PiggyVest ) and Eloho Omame, (Managing Director of Endeavour Nigeria) have founded First Check Africa, a first of its kind initiative that invests in women in the tech space.
First Check Africa is a female-led angel fund and an investor community that aims to help women learn how to invest.
This is what Eloho, one of the co-founders had to say.
In October 2020, @OdunEweniyi and I bonded over our frustration with female under-representation in African tech.
The system isn’t working very well for women and *someone* needs to fix it. ?
So we’re rolling up our sleeves and putting our money where our mouth is!

Today, we launch FirstCheck Africa (@FirstCheckHQ), to invest “ridiculously early” and open doors for female founders, and to help women invest in tech. ??
Our vision is an African future that women have an equal hand in leading & shaping through tech & entrepreneurship.
