This Acid Survivor Has Every Reason To Be Grateful As She Gets Call Up To Serve Her Fatherland

Acid Survivor, Obanye Frances Chizoba is all set to start her one year mandatory national youth service, NYSC and her story is one of determination, strength and a strong believe that she was just as good as every one else despite her scars.

Frances who now has a degree in Biochemistry from the Anambra State University has been living as a burn survivor since the age of 9.

According to her, the worst event of her life occurred after her uncle’s wife threw acid on her and ran away. The acid had been meant for her brother but Francess who was in the way at the time got injured instead.

Living her life looking different from others was a challenge she learnt to live with especially the saddening fact that children ran away when they saw and even those who knew her before the incident refused to come near her.

Francess credits her courage to face life as normal as could to her mother, whom she says encourages her no matter what she wants to do.

She also said she never felt depressed by her condition because she accepted it as something she could not change even though she hopes to raise enough money to have a plastic surgery done.
