Outrage On Twitter As Bamise, The Lady Who Went Missing After Boarding A BRT Bus Is Confirmed Dead
Oluwabamise Ayanwola, the lady whose whereabouts became unknown after boarding a BRT bus has been confirmed dead with parts of her private part missing.
It all started when the 21-year-old boarded a Lagos State Government-owned BRT bus from Chevron Estate in Ajah going to Oshodi on Saturday, February 26.
Oluwabamise, who usually spends the weekends at Ota, Ogun State, works as a fashion designer at Chevron Estate.
In an exclusive interview with The Nation, her sibling, Elizabeth revealed that her missing sister was heading to her brother’s house at Ikotun to stay with the wife who was in labour.
Bamise was said to have boarded the bus with number 240257 at 7:30 pm and became suspicious when the driver told her to sit at the back of the vehicle.
During the journey, the lady, who sensed danger, wondered why the bus did not pick any other passenger at subsequent bus stops.
She then reportedly engaged a friend via voice notes on her phone. The voice notes revealed that the bus driver said he liked Ayanwola and asked for her name and other details.
Worried about the situation, she told her friend to pray for her as she became suspicious of the bus driver.
Her friend told her to alight at Oworonsoki bus stop before Oshodi. Oluwabamise also sent a video to her friend showing how dark it was on the bus.
She reportedly said: “There are three men and one woman on the bus. The woman is sitting at the back. That’s the number of the bus in case. Please pray for me.’’
That was the last heard from Oluwabamise. Her friend tried calling her via normal call a few minutes to 8 pm, but she didn’t pick up.
“Around 7:32 pm, she posted ‘God, it is your protection I need’ on her Whatsapp status.
“I saw the status but I didn’t see it on time because I was not online.
“After repeated calls, her friend said she heard some voices underneath trying to struggle to get the phone from her.”
The police and the Lagos Bus Rapid Transit have intensified the search for the BRT driver identified as Nice Andrew Omininikoron whose bus she allegedly got missing.
Nigerians have taken to Twitter calling for justice for late Bamise.

Bamise’s death can happen to anyone. Please, join in the protest for justice. This was not a danfo. Not a street taxi. It was a government-backed bus. Is that not crazy?

So sad to read that Bamise was found dead. I remember RTing and commenting “even BRTs are not safe again” on the post her friend made days ago.
With all the evidences, VN, pictures and reporting made by the family, nothing was done. Another case of a failed Nation.

Bamise’s story is so heartbreaking. It is even more worrisome that we don’t know how many people have suffered the same fate as her.
For all we know, there could be more to suffer the same fate and that is because it is hard to get Justice in our society.— DeboMacaroni (@mrmacaronii) March 7, 2022
They kidnapped and killed Bamise Ayanwole and took her body parts. This is the height of cruelty. The BRT driver “Nice Andrew Omininikoron” with the bus number 240257 is on the run! Let’s ensure he’s found and thoroughly investigated. She must not die in vain ? pic.twitter.com/x7nrehbp0a

“Young ladies are abducted and killed because they follow rich men that are not in their class.”
No, young women are killed because society isn’t safe and justice never prevails. Bamise was in a government-owned BRT.#JusticeForBamise pic.twitter.com/N8rdELU8S9
