1. Kemi Adeosun was born on the 9th of March, 1967, in London.

2. She hails from Ijebu Waterside, Ogun State.

3. Her father was a government civil engineer, and she is the third of her father’s four children.

4. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from the University of East London in 1989 and a postgraduate diploma in public financial management from the University of London.

5. Adeosun began her career as an accounting assistant at British Telecom, London, from 1989 to 1990, after which she moved to Goodman Jones, London, working as a senior audit officer from 1990 to 1993.

6. She qualified as a chartered accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) in 1994.

7. She was the manager of internal audit at London Underground, London, and Prism Consulting from 1994 to 2000, before joining PricewaterhouseCoopers, London, as senior manager from 2000 to 2002, before becoming financial controller at Chapel Hill Denham Management and subsequently becoming managing director in 2010.

8. She was the Commissioner of Finance in Ogun State between 2011 and 2014 after working with Quo Vadis Partnership as managing director from 2010 to 2011.

9. She was appointed Minister of Finance in November 2015.

10. She resigned from office on the 14th of September, 2018, over allegations that she had forged her NYSC exemption certificate, which was exclusively reported by Premium Times.

11. Adeosun succeeded Ndagijimana Uzziel, Minister of Finance of the Republic of Rwanda, to become chairman of the board of the African Export–Import Bank (Afrexim).
