Kiki Mordi has responded to allegations surrounding the ownership of the ‘Sex for Grades’ 2019 documentary that put her in the limelight.
A fellow journalist, Ruona Meyer had accused her of claiming ownership despite not being the brain behind it.
Kiki, make sure this time you at least share whatever prize money there is with O.O and acknowledge her – given this was all her story as pitched, sourced/started.
Real journalists have honour and also hold themselves to account, not just the government. #TruthIsSacrosanct https://t.co/gvmQ42IeFo— Ruona J. Meyer (@RGAMeyer) December 10, 2020
This call-out came hours after Mordi snagged up yet another award, the 2020 Michael Elliott Award by the International Center for Journalists.
She has also won awards like the MTV EMA Changemaker Award and an EMMY award nomination in 2020.
The accusation had led to an exchange of tweets between the two women and also sparked reactions online.
Mordi has now taken to Twitter to clear the air on the allegations.
#SexForGrades is not a glamorous story, none of you – not even Ruona who – knows the horror that we faced investigating both in Ghana and in several states in Nigeria, or even during post production in London. pic.twitter.com/CGNNUBDXxc
