President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Mojoyinoluwa Dekalu-Thomas as the new managing director and chief executive officer of the Nigeria Electricity Liability Management Company (NELMCO).

A statement by Ajuri Ngelale, the special adviser to the president on media and publicity, on Friday in Abuja, said the appointment was for a term of four years.

Mrs. Dekalu-Thomas has served as the acting MD/CEO of NELMCO since the tenure of pioneer NELMCO MD/CEO, Adebayo Fagbemi, which ended on May 8. Mr Ngelale said that her new appointment has created a vacancy at her previous position of executive director, liability management.

He said that the President has, therefore, approved the appointment of Dimla Nchinney to serve in NELMCO as the substantive executive director, of liability management.

The presidential spokesman said that the appointments took immediate effect.

Mojoyinoluwa Dekalu-Thomas has over twenty-two years of international, progressive management experience gained from working in executive management positions in the UK, Germany, Belgium, South Africa, and Nigeria and in diverse industries including Legal, Oil and Gas, Telecommunications, Financial Services, and Technology.

She holds an LL.B (Hons.) from the University of Buckingham and a Post Graduate in International Relations from the University of Kent at Canterbury, UK.

Before her recent appointment, she served on NELMCO’s management team. Prior to joining NELMCO, she held senior management positions in national and multinational companies.
