1.Early Life

Nadia Buari was born on the 21st of November, 1982 in Takoradi, Ghana to a Lebanese father and Ghanaian mother out of wedlock. Although she never knew her father, a few years after she was born, Her mother got married to Alhaji Sadiku Buari who adopted Nadia. She studied performing arts at the University of Ghana and graduated with a BFA Degree. Her love for acting started in her early days in school.

2.Career

Buari started her entertainment journey on Ghanaian National Television with the TV series Games People Play in late 2005. Her first major film was Mummy’s Daughter, after which she starred in Beyonce: The President’s Daughter. Her role as “Beyonce” was her major breakthrough in the movie industry.

Nadia moved from Ghanaian films to Nigerian films in 2008. Her breakthrough role in Nollywood was in the film Beyonce & Rihanna as Beyonce alongside Nollywood actress, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde who played Rihanna.

In 2013, she produced her own movie called The Diary of Imogen Brown. She has featured in over 50 movies that have gotten her several awards and made her popular as well.


She has also featured in movies like Rough Rider, Beauty and the Beast, Holding Hope and Single and Married.

There was lots of controversy surrounding her relationships, especially with actor, Jim Iyke.

It was reported that Nadia Buari and Jim Iyke dated in 2014, although she denied the rumours.

The actress has twin girls although she has failed to reveal who their father is but reports claim the father of her twins is an Atlanta based Arab man.

The actress received two nominations for Best Actress in a Leading Role at the African Movie Academy Awards in 2001 and 2009.

In 2013, Nadia became the ambassador of Tablet Media Limited. She also won the Pan African Actress award at the Nigerian Entertainment Award that held in New York in 2013.

In 2014, the AMVCA gave her a ‘Special Recognition Award’ in an event held in Accra, Ghana.
