2. Christmas in Lagos

Get into the festive mood with Christmas in Lagos, a romantic drama directed by Jade Osiberu.

The plot follows Fiyin, who begins to develop feelings for her best friend, Elo, after a heartbreak. However, complications arise after Elo returns to Nigeria, ready to propose to his secret girlfriend, Yagazie. The movies include a stellar cast of Shaffy Bello, Wale Ojo, Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD), Rayxia Ojo, and Folu Storms with special appearances from Waje, Adekunle Gold, Ayra Starr, and Ladipoe.

3. Thin Line

Directed by Mercy Aigbe, Thin Line is a mystery drama that tells the story of betrayal, faith, morality, and trust. It tells the gripping story of Pastor Raymond, a charismatic leader known for his spirit-filled sermons and practical views on relationships and marriages.

The cast includes Iyabo Ojo, Olaiya Igwe, The Cute Abiola, Jaiye Kuti, Adeniyi Johnson, and Yvonne Jegede. It is set to premiere in cinemas on December 13, 2024.

4. Alakada: Bad and Boujee

Toyin Abraham returns with this hilarious sequel to the Alakada franchise, which started in 2009. Alakada: Bad and Boujee follow the hilarious storyline centered on the character Yetunde, portrayed by Abraham. Yetunde, a young woman grappling with feelings of inadequacy, navigates her world by making up stories about her social status to mask her insecurities. But her lies always come back to haunt her.

Featuring a cast including King Sunny Ade, Olumide Oworu, Bimbo Ademoye, IK Ogbonna, Chimezie Imo, and Kolawole Ajeyemi, the film will premiere in cinemas on December 20, 2024.

5. Seven Doors

Seven Doors explores the relationship among the different cultures in Nigeria as Femi Adebayo makes his directorial debut, weaving a story of love, tradition, and sacrifice.

The cast includes Adebayo Salami, Chioma Akpotha, Ronke Oshodi, Muyiwa Ademola, Jide Kosoko, Aisha Lawal, Yinka Quadri, and Gabriel Afolayan. It will premiere on Netflix on December 13, 2024.

 

6. The Waiter

AY Makun returns with this riveting action film titled The Waiter. This film provides a thought-provoking narrative about resilience, courage, and hope. Produced by AY Makun, the film stars Deyemi Okanlawon, Shaffy Bello, Regina Daniels, and Rahama Sadau, amongst others.

This movie will premiere in cinemas on December 20.

 

7. A Ghetto Love Story

Based on a true-life story, A Ghetto Love Story follows Obinna and Stella, “childhood friends whose dreams of a lifelong connection are overshadowed by life’s harsh realities.” Directed by Daniel Oriahi, the cast includes Basketmouth, Patience Ozokwor, Nobert Young, Chioma Chukwuka Akpotha, Wale Ojo, Dorathy Bachor, Akah Nnani, Beverly Osu, Chimezie Imo, Efe Irele, and Ehiz DadaBoy.

It premiered on November 22.
