For the 1962 Oscars, 86-year-old Rita Monero walked down the red carpet in a gold and black suede dress when she picked up a brass for her starring role in West Side Story.

Amazingly, she turned heads when she wore that same dress at the 2018 Academy Awards thereby defying the general human aging process by wearing the same dress she had worn before 56 years later.

Talking about it to Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet, she said:

“The fabric was made out of the sashes Japanese women use on their kimonos. “They’re usually folded over and over and over, it’s all one piece of fabric. I thought it would tarnish! It’s been hanging in my closet.” Here’s to 56 more years.”

Moreno switched things up a bit with the gown by altering the neckline, turning it into a strapless dress  and adding a bold necklace, but she still kept the statement gloves.
