All You Should Know As BBNaija Star Tacha Makes History With Guinness World Records For Makeup Marathon

Tacha Guinness World Records

Media personality and entrepreneur Anita Natacha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has made history once again, this time on a global scale. The former BBNaija housemate has been officially certified by Guinness World Records for setting two impressive world records in the beauty industry.

The record-breaking body was announced via social media on Wednesday, November 12.

Here’s everything you need to know about her record-breaking achievement.

She set not one, but two Guinness World Records.

Tacha set two individual Guinness World Records simultaneously during her “Makeup-A-Thon” event held in Lagos on October 11, 2025.

  • Most cosmetic makeovers in 8 hours (individual): 82 makeovers

  • Most cosmetic makeovers in 24 hours (individual): 144 makeovers

Both records have now been officially confirmed by Guinness World Records, cementing her name in history as a global beauty trailblazer. The former record was set by Mary Yongai in 2024.

Her determination during her attempt stood out

Tacha’s record attempt wasn’t without challenges. A nine-hour storm disrupted the event, damaging some materials and signage. To make matters worse, power outages occurred several times—but Tacha and her team persevered, continuing their work under phone flashlights at one point.

She said, “We faced a nine-hour storm that disrupted everything. The rain poured so heavily that our screens, monitors, and branding fell apart. The wind scattered the setup, and we had to rebuild the venue from scratch mid-event.”

Her resilience and determination quickly became a highlight of the attempt, earning her massive praise online.

A huge milestone for Nigeria’s beauty industry

Her record brings global attention to Nigeria’s growing beauty and creative sectors, spotlighting local talent and artistry. Her success also proves that with dedication, even globally recognized records can be broken from Africa.

Tacha has described her record-breaking win as not just a personal win but a victory for every girl and woman.

“This record isn’t just mine. It belongs to every girl child who has ever dared to start over, every creative who has ever been doubted, every person who has been disqualified but refused to give up, and every dreamer who still believes that greatness can come from anywhere.

“I want my story to remind the world that greatness has no geography and that Africa’s creative power deserves to be seen, celebrated, and remembered.”
