Tesglam Guinness World Record

Nigerian makeup artist and entrepreneur Theresa Emegwara, known as @Tesglammakeovers on Instagram, has officially received her Guinness World Record plaque for completing the longest continuous makeup session by an individual, held in Lagos.

The marathon, which took place at the popular Landmark Boulevard in August 2025, saw Tesglam transform over 200 faces nonstop for six days, drawing crowds of spectators, models, and fellow creatives and completing the feat in 146 hours. 23 minutes and 56 seconds, thereby surpassing the previous record of 103 hours set by Ghanaian makeup artist Akosua Mantey Roselyn.

Following her record confirmation, she met with the Lagos State Commissioner for Youth, Mobolaji Ogunlende, and the state Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu. Recall that the commissioner paid a courtesy visit during her marathon, stating, “She has not only represented Lagos with pride but has also inspired young creatives to pursue excellence on a global stage.”

Reacting to her world record confirmation on Instagram, Tesglam said,

Months ago, I completed a 146-hour continuous makeup marathon, a journey that tested my body, sharpened my discipline, and deepened my love for this craft.

Today, I’m grateful to share that the attempt has been officially reviewed and confirmed by the Guinness World Records.

What started as a personal challenge became a collective moment, powered by community, belief, and the quiet strength it takes to keep going when no one is watching.

This achievement is bigger than me. It’s about what happens when preparation meets purpose.

Thank you for holding my hand through the waiting, the wondering, and the work.

This journey has only just begun. History has been made.
