Media personality, Toke Makinwa, has taken to her vlog, Toke Moments, to discuss the issue of money and dating in a new episode titled ‘Date Your Wage,’ which continues last week’s episode, ‘Break Up/Make Up.’ Seeing all the comments and mixed feelings after followers had watched last week’s episode, she decided to continue it with ‘Date Your Wage.’
Every Wednesday, Makinwa posts new videos to discuss several matters. There are also times she plays quizzes.
Last week, she discussed how it’s wrong for men to call a lady a ‘golddigger’ and for women to pretend they don’t like money. She encourages women to be real.
On this week’s episode of Toke Moments, she addresses how both men and women can maintain great relationships and still live within their means. For the women, she encourages them to focus on having their own source of wealth instead of depending on a man. Toke also adds that it isn’t bad for a woman to collect gifts or money from a man; however, she should have her own trade, job, or business.
Furthermore, Toke Makinwa condemns men who want to ‘impress’ a woman of high standards and live beyond their means, buying her extremely expensive gifts. She advises them to forget about impressing her and focus on their budget, thereby ‘dating’ their ‘wage.’
