The trend came as a result of the response that President Buhari gave at one of a conference held by the European Union. This response placed social media into a frenzy as several notable celebrities weighed in on the thought of the President.
2.Assurance
Davido came through with Assurance in May as he made a song for his beau, Chioma. Davido became public about his relationship with Chioma. Asides recording the Assurance song for Chioma and gifted her a 45m Naira Porsche on her 25th birthday. Can you beat that?
3.Na Dem Rush Us
This trend was coined out of a video where Nollywood actor, Charles Inojie used the word in a scene of a movie. The hilarious scene caught everyone’s attention and it became a trend.
4.Linda Ikeji’s Pregnancy
Top blogger, Linda Ikeji broke the internet with the news of her pregnancy. The mother of one who has always preached about celibacy over the years got a lot of tongues wagging as she shared her pregnancy photos earlier in the year.
5.Accolades
Inspired by Nollywood actor, Charles Okocha “I deserve some accolades” skit, everyone caught up with this trend in no time and started making videos on Instagram. Charles followed with other trends like ‘Adeniny’ and many more.
6.Kiki Challenge
Kiki challenge originated from Darke’s single ‘In my feelings’off his album ‘Scorpion’. Almost everyone jumped on this trend and we spotted some of our celebrities too.

The #kupechallenge started when 4 French guys posted a video of themselves dancing to the Kupe song. A lot of Nigerian ladies were drolling over these guys that they had to participate in the dance challenge.
