A Nigerian Lady has sparked a trending conversation on Twitter over the distance of her house to her place of work.
It all started when Twitter user @Iyinoluwa said there wasn’t any excuse for success after she revealing she got home 3 am on Wednesday due to the downpour in Lagos and was still able to wake up early for work.
She wrote: I got home at 3am this morning (Thanks to Lagos Traffic) and right now, I am at law school headed to work. Mind you, I live at Mowe, ibafo and I work at Ikate. There’s no excuse to success. You have to keep moving no matter what!! Good Morning
This however sparked criticisms from Twitter users with many advising her to look for accommodation closer to her workplace.
Mowe to Ikate and back everyday with the transportation situation in Lagos, is NOT the life that anyone should have.
We shouldn’t be attributing success to that level of suffering. She didn’t even get up to 3 hours of sleep.— The CV Writer (@FunkeOnafuye) September 10, 2020
Mowe to Ikate? I’d rather hawk groundnuts at that NNPC filling station at Mowe

If that lady is really boxed up and financially OK, she will not be travelling to work, from Mowe to Ikate everyday at odd hours.
Instead of slandering her for that tweet, get her a new job on the mainland or an apartment on island. If you cannot do any of those, just STFU!

I just read about a lady who goes to work from Mowe to Ikate everyday and I see people hailing her under her tweet. I don’t know why Nigerians normalize toxicity so much. Nobody I even concerned about the lady’s health

The way we have made struggling a benchmark or a yardstick for success. Lagos go make una dey think say you gaz suffer before you make plenty money.
How person go dey mobilize from mowe to ikate daily, come here dey say its the price you pay for success?
