She said in a conversation with two of her friends,
”I know how much time and effort has gone into this particular album… I’m at that point where I’m just… maybe it is time to just bow out, bowing out when the ovation is loudest.” ”I don tire,” she cries, ”I don’t have faith in this anymore… I am not willing to do this thing anymore… Do you know how much I have invested in this career thing?” ‘I don’t want to be in the class of artists that have failed, I don’t want to be in that class. I just know that I have come to the point where I just don’t think its working for me anymore,”

Below are some of the things Nigerians had to say about Waje’s decision.
WAJE: I no get money for publicity
This video shows that Waje is going through a lot but no, some people didn’t notice the pain, they just want to talk.
If you still think she is too lazy to compete after watching this video, you are heartless! pic.twitter.com/pYkjeAt3sO

Waje is proof that if you’re not singing about Zanku, codeine diet, drugs or sexual songs you won’t last in the music industry. I love Waje❤️

If you’re looking from outside, you’ll assume this entertainment business is easy. Waje is right, the sheer amount of capital you have to invest in promotions is not for the fainthearted. You could be the most talented there is but without huge capital investment you’ll struggle

Waje is just like every other Nigerian struggling with their finances and stuffs.
Such Nigerians are close to us, we meet them daily.
So what make Waje’s different.
She’s in an industry that put her in the limelight.
Everyone faces different life challenges.

I don’t understand. Waje doesn’t want to spend money to promote her album? Like people are just supposed to go out & buy?
I’m so confused. Even Michael Jackson used to spend money to promote his albums.
It’s not just about talent. It’s about brand promotion & marketing. //t.co/Cm1STdPaJO

You’re missing the point bro. There are deeper issues. She shouldn’t be spending her own money to fund her music in the first place. That’s the job of a proper record label. But how many record labels are ready to invest in an artist like Waje? How many proper labels do we have? //t.co/8kazofDDJb

Tiwa savage, Yemi Alade, Simi, Teni and the host of others are very much active in the industry and they don’t talk about drugs and sex in their music. Waje didn’t work hard and for that she was left behind. Period

I have a question. How does DJ spinall, Larry Gaaga, DJ neptune, CDQ and the rest make money from music and Waje that is way bigger than them doesn’t. She had different endorsement deals and all that and she’s sounding like a failed artiste Or it’s a publicity stunt?

The problem is that:
1. There’s no market really for artistes like Waje, Bez, Timi Dakolo and the like in Nigeria… At least not yet.
2. Many artistes/ management label knows music but don’t know the business part of it which is almost important than d music itself.

When I saw the video of Waje @OfficialWaje saying she wants to do something else I was dishearten. I have worked with a team of hers on the song Mountain ft Lira. She spent around #10 million on that song. I mentioned her so she can verify. Read This Thread
