13 Things To Know About Winnie Harlow, The Jamaican-Canadian Model Featured In Wizkid’s True Love Video

Wizkid has released the video for the single “True Love,” which features Tay Iwar and Projexx.

The video includes an appearance from Jamaican-Canadian model and vitiligo awareness spokeswoman Winnie Harlow who appears to be Wizkid’s love interest in the video.

1. She was born Chantelle Brown-Young on July 27, 1994, in Canada but she hails from Jamaica.

2. She has two sisters.

3. Harlow was diagnosed with the skin condition, Vitiligo when she was four.

4. She contemplated suicide due to constant bullying over her skin condition. This also led to her changing schools frequently and dropping out of high school.

5. She was discovered by Tyra Banks on Instagram. Subsequently, she became one of the 14 finalists of America’s Next Top Model cycle in 2014. This shot her into the limelight.

6. She became the brand representative for Spanish clothing brand, Desigual following her elimination from America’s Next Top Model.

7. In September 2014, she walked and closed for the clothing brand Ashish for its spring/summer 2015 collection in London Fashion Week.
