Olufunke Akindele Bello popularly known as Funke Akindele, is a Nigerian award-winning Nollywood actress, producer, and entrepreneur.
Born August 24, 1977, in Ikorodu, Lagos State, Nigeria, She came to the limelight after featuring in the popular United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) sponsored sitcom; I Need to Know, which ran from 1998 to 2002.
Since then, she has only gone on to achieve greater things and become a force to reckon with in the entertainment industry and the world at large.

1. Get an education at all cost
Funke Akindele is definitely one of the most educated Nigerian celebrities and that’s a fact. After obtaining an OND in Mass Communication, she still went on to bag a degree in Law from the University of Lagos. She had a passion for acting but she made sure she first acquired education.
Never stop learning or educating yourself. Go to school, study, earn that degree and become a true professional.
2. Use your talents
It’s not news that Funke Akindele is multi-talented. Asides from being an actress and producer, she is also a lawyer, journalist, and dancer. She is what you call a ‘Jack of All Trades’ and ‘Master of All’ and she embodies all these professions in her daily life from time to time.

3. Command respect
Funke Akindele no doubt oozes and commands respect in the entertainment industry both in Nigeria and globally. 4. Be consistent and hardworking
One thing that has been constant with Funke is her consistency and hard work. From her days of ‘I Need To Know’ in the late ’90s to her blockbuster movie, ‘Jenifa’ in 2008 which was the game changer for her career, and now to ‘Omo Ghetto’ being the highest-grossing Nollywood ever, all we can see is someone who is consistent and has refused to rest on her oars.
This has helped her continue to set the bar in Nigeria’s entertainment industry with her acting, production, and directing skills. One key takeaway is to keep doing that thing you have great zeal and passion for. It may take a while but there is definitely a light at the end of the tunnel if you stay consistent.
5. Don’t let your mistakes hold you back
Her marriage in 2012 crashed less than a year later on the ground of irreconcilable differences. Even though she was already in her 30’s, it didn’t stop her from finding love again in the arms of JJC Skillz three years later. They are blessed with twin boys.
The truth is we will all at a point make mistakes and take risks. Like a popular quote says: “Just move on. Don’t let mistakes hold you back.
