Baby Kaavia James has bagged her first magazine cover with her stunning mom, Gabrielle Union.
The 4-month-old and the Actress and Author are the cover stars of the Parents magazine May 2019 Issue. In this issue, Gabrielle Union opens up about motherhood and describes how L.A.’s Finest costar Jessica Alba “outfitted my trailer like a nursery”.
Sharing a snap of the cover on Instagram, Gabrielle wrote, “This little girl has brought light and joy to my life I didn’t even know it was possible. Without words, she has challenged me to be a better version of myself and daily has me busting out in fits of laughter.”
While the Hollywood actress has honed her skills over the years as a stepmom to her husband Dwyane Wade‘s sons, the newborn’s life was uncharted territory before November. But she’s getting the hang of it.
She says:
“I suck at swaddling,”
“I don’t know whether to use plastic or glass bottles.”
“I never knew there were so many types of nipples. And installing a car seat is like taking the SATs!” jokes the actress. “I don’t have all the answers, which feels terrifying.”
Gabrielle and her husband, Dwyane Wade, surprised the world when they welcomed Kaavia via a surrogate on 7 November 2018. Following multiple miscarriages and almost 5 years of failed IVF attempts, Gabrielle’s dream of giving her three stepsons a sibling came true.
Aside from being a mom to our kids, Gabrielle hasn’t given up on her professional goals. Admitting she’s only human, the Breaking In actress says she’s okay with not having to be perfect all the time.
“I’m okay with life not being balanced. I’m not hitting it out of the park in every area. There are times I should be studying lines, but I’m playing with my baby, and I’m enjoying it.”
