Nigerian athlete, Alice Oluwafemi Ayo has broken the world record for World Para Powerlifting Championships in Mexico.

Sunday December 2nd was an emotional day as the young athlete could not believe that she had achieved the incredible feat putting Nigeria as the world record holder for her category.

Oluwafemiayo won after clearing the bar at 140kg before lifting 145kg in her fourth attempt to break the world record of 144kg fellow Nigerian Loveline Obiji had set back in 2014.

This comes following the recent wins of Nigerians at international music awards and hope the trend continues.
