Meet Angel Wanjiru, Teenage Singer Who Defied Congenital Disorder To Follow Her Dreams At 14


Many are faced with complicated circumstances, but few eventually overcome those difficult circumstances. Angel Wanjiru is one of the few who have chosen to defy every odd to pursue her ambition.

Angel Wanjiru was born with a congenital disorder called hydrocephalus, which affected the shape of her head. Speaking to BBC Africa in an interview, Angel said several doctors told her mother she wouldn’t survive, but she did.

In 2016, Angel released her first song, which was inspired by the discrimination she faced from people around her. She said the only way she has survived so far is by ignoring people’s perceptions about her.
