Ayra Starr’s journey to success could be a clear case of speaking things into existence.
The ‘Rush’ star has revealed how her secondary school teacher at her Deeper Life School predicted her deal with Mavin Records when she was 14 years.
Recall that she shot into the limelight when she released her first original song, which caught the attention of record mogul Don Jazzy.
Starr shared this in the latest episode of Joey Akan’s Afrobeats Intelligence podcast saying, “I have a teacher that literally inspired me. He said I was going to be signed to Mavin. It’s crazy. I was 14 then and he said, ‘Mavin is going to sign you. Start making videos.’ He would just inspire me. He was even Muslim but he would tell me to go to church and join the choir. He was my Maths teacher.”
Afrobeats Intelligence: At 14, Ayra Starr’s teacher from Deeper Life school prophesied that Mavin Records will sign her.
At 16 she pivoted to music on IG, where Don Jazzy found her.
How has she handled it all?
