Afrobeat sensation Burna Boy has just released the video for his newest single titled “Dangote”.
The visual begins with a statistic about unemployment in Burna’s home country of Nigeria. What follows is a tale of citizens from all walks of life striving to make money in their day-to-day lives. Burna doesn’t actually appear in the video until the very end, as his face pops up on a battered TV screen while he hums the song’s ending.
In his usual manner, the Afrofusion artiste addresses a number of the economic and societal problems facing the average Nigeria youth on a daily basis and how they have found ways to cope with it.
The video which was directed by Clarence Peters tells these stories from the perspectives of the people living these lives while revealing the consequences of their actions.
