Black Panther Star, Danai Gurira has garnered quite a number of amazing recognition after the release of the record-breaking movie.

The Wakanda General has been appointed as the new UN Women Goodwill Ambassador at the Global Citizen Festival.

The festival which held in South Africa to honour Nelson Mandela featured several stars like Beyonce, Tiwa Savage and several others.

The award-winning actor, playwright and activist joins a list that presently includes Nicole Kidman, Emma Watson, Anne Hathaway and Marta Vieira da Silva.

Being appointed @unwomen Goodwill Ambassador in front of an amazing crowd of tens of thousands in Southern Africa where my passion and heritage stems from, was a deeply profound moment for me.
