Actress, Funke Akindele Makes Directorial Debut On Ebony Life Film’ “Your Excellency”

Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele has added another feather to her numerous caps with her directorial debut for the movie ‘Your Excellency’.

EbonyLife Films has collaborated with the Jenifa star to produce yet another blockbuster.

While speaking about the film’s synopsis, EbonyLife CEO, Mo Abudu said;

I am so so happy to be on set this morning with the one and only super talented @funkejenifaakindele, Our lead actress and director – directing her first feature film – our Christmas special titled – ’YOUR EXCELLENCY’. We are working round the clock for the next few months to bring you another one of our Christmas special blockbusters. It truly is going to be fantastic!!! The script is just out of this world!!!

’Your Excellency’ tells the story of Chief Olalekan Ajadi, a bumbling, billionaire businessman and failed presidential candidate, who is obsessed with Donald Trump. Just when his campaign looks set to be another disaster, Ajadi is anointed by a major party and becomes a credible contender – all through the power of social media. Wait till you meet his family, his aides and the other contenders, its hilarious. We have the most incredible team of cast and crew on this project. Thank you all so much.

Some of the cast in the movie include Funke Akindele-Bello, Lala Akindoju, Shaffy Bello, Kunle Coker, Eku Edewor, Oreka Godis, Osas Ighodalo, Seyi Law, Helen Paul just to mention a few.

The movie was written by Yinka Ogun, with Isioma Osaje and James Amuta producing.

While this is Funke’s debut as a feature film director, she is an experienced producer of eight movies, including the widely acclaimed Jenifa and The Return of Jenifa. She parlayed this success into the immensely popular television series Jenifa’s Diary, which became the most-watched family series in Nigeria.

Your Excellency is set for release on 13th December 2019 across Nigeria.
