Nigerian chef, Hilda Bassey popularly known as Hilda Baci, who set a new Guinness record for the longest cooking time by an individual, will enjoy an array of gifts and sponsorship for her tenacity.
She cooked for 100 hours, 40 minutes (four days), surpassing an earlier record set by Lata Tandon, an Indian chef who cooked for over 87 hours.
Already a number of brands and organizations have promised to 27-year-old chef different gifts.
Here are nine of them.
1. Dana Air
Nigerian airline, Dana Air has announced its support for the Guinness World Record-breaking Chef Hilda Baci, with one year of free tickets for all her domestic travels.
Speaking on the support for Hilda Baci, the Chief Operating Officer of Dana Air, Ememobong Ettete, said “We will be supporting Hilda’s local travels for one year. We understand her mum is also a chef and she must have gotten this inspiration from her in light of this, we shall be supporting her mum with 3 months of local flights for free.
2. Zaron Cosmetics
Popular Nigerian cosmetics brand, Zaron, has promised to gift her a year’s supply of skincare and makeup products. It was announced on the brand’s official Instagram page. The announcement read, “71 hours in and it’s undeniable how resilient she is. To cheer her on, we at Zaron Cosmetics will support her by providing a 1-year free supply of skincare and makeup products”.
3. Itel
Itel will also be supporting Baci with its latest smartphone. A tweet from their official page reads, “After seeing @Hildabacicooks achieve the extraordinary Guinness World Record feat of cooking for 88 hours (3 days +), we would like to give her and her team the itel P40, our latest smartphone”.
4. Victoria Crest Home
The management of Victoria Crest Home has supported the young chef with a pledge of N5,000,000 (Five Million Naira) and also involved a solar panelling company. Their tweet read, “We are super proud of you @hildabacicooks. We have shown our support for Hilda’s record-breaking cookathon by supporting this cause financially. In addition, Citadel UTILITIES is generously supporting her with a 10KVA Premium Solar System.”
5. Vesti App
Fintech company, Vesti App will be sponsoring Baci on an all-expense paid trip to Maldives. It was also announced on Twitter, “We are thrilled to announce that @vestiofficial will be offering an all-expense paid trip to the Maldives this summer, to the phenomenal @hildabaci of @myfoodbyhilda on her daring and record-breaking attempt at the #Guinness world record at 27years for the longest number of hours a chef has cooked.
“We are inspired by this global feat and wish her the best as she attempts to break the record and believe this will inspire the next generation of record-breakers in Nigeria and on the African continent. ”
6. Royalrest Mattress
Nigerian mattress brand, Royalrest Mattress has pledged to gift the 27-year-old chef a luxury mattress guaranteed to help soothe her tired muscles.
The announcement read, “We are excited to announce that @royalrest_mattress will be giving the incredible @hildabaci of @myfoodbyhilda a luxury organic cool mattress to give her a well-deserved rest for her bravery and win at the #Guinness world record at 27 years for the longest amount of time a chef has cooked. We applaud this international accomplishment and hope that it will serve as an inspiration for the next generation of record-breakers in Nigeria and throughout Africa.”
7. Brief Essentials

8. Baay Projects
Real estate business, Baay Projects, has offered a portion of land in Ketu-Epe for her Guinness Records attempt. The announcement read, “We at Baay Projects are excited to offer @hildabaci a 500 square metre land in Green City Estate, Ketu-Epe for achieving this incredible feat.
“Thank you for proving to the world that women’s dreams are valid and there’s no limit to what they can achieve. Big congratulations to the new Guinness record holder and new Green City Landlady”.
9. Madonna University
Hilda Baci was awarded a scholarship up to PhD level and Madonna University, Nigeria’s highest merit award by the Founder and Chancellor. These awards are in recognition of her achievement.
