Before the release of her award-winning movie ‘Isoken’, not much was known about movie writer, director, and producer, Jadesola Osiberu.

Jade Osiberu has, however, become a force to be reckoned with in the film industry.

Here is a brief profile on the multi-talented filmmaker as she turns a year older.

1.Early Life

Jade Osiberu was born on the 18th of August 1985.

2.Education

Jade obtained a Bachelors Degree in Computer and Systems Engineering from the University of Manchester, London in 2006. After a brief stint as a software Engineer at Neptune Software, Lagos she returned to her true passion and went on to obtain a Masters degree in Media and Communications at the Pan African University in 2010.

3.Career

She served as a trainee journalist and producer at Channels Television between the year, 2007 to  2008. Her career experienced a turning point when she joined Digital Marketing team at GTBank and created Ndani TV, a first-of-its-kind content marketing project that pushed the bank’s position as one of the most innovative and creative Nigerian Bank online.

Osiberu was head of Ndani TV and was in charge of everything, from Skinny Girl in Transit, The Juice to Gidi Up which secured a nomination in the AMVCAs in 2015. Jade continued her journey as a filmmaker as she launched her own production company, TRIBE85 PRODUCTIONS, with the vision of telling African stories to a global audience.

She made her directorial debut with ‘Isoken’ in 2017.

4.Awards

Jade Osiberu won the best movie West Africa for her debut movie titled ” Isoken” as well as the best director for the same movie at the  2018 AMVCAs which took place at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Lagos, Nigeria.

5. Personal LifeJade broke the stereotypes that were attached to single women.The pressure placed on her relationship status then inspired the movie “Isoken”.

She, however, found love and got married to her hubby in May 2019.
