Before the release of her award-winning movie ‘Isoken,’ not much was known about movie writer, director, and producer Jade Osiberu. Osiberu has, however, become a force to be reckoned with in the film industry.
Here is a profile on the multi-talented filmmaker as she turns a year older.
1. Early Life
Jadesola Osiberu was born on the 18th of August 1985 into a royal family. Her father, Oba Adewale Osiberu, is the Elepe of Epe Sagamu.
2. Education
She obtained a bachelor’s degree in computer and systems engineering from the University of Manchester, London, in 2006. After a brief stint as a software engineer at Neptune Software, Lagos, she returned to her true passion and went on to obtain a master’s degree in Media and Communications at the Pan Atlantic University in 2010.
3. Career
She served as a trainee journalist and producer at Channels Television between 2007 and 2008. Her career experienced a turning point when she joined the Digital Marketing team at GTBank and created Ndani TV. This first-of-its-kind content marketing project pushed the bank’s position as one of the most innovative and creative Nigerian banks online.
Osiberu was the head of Ndani TV and was in charge of everything, from Skinny Girl in Transit and The Juice to Gidi Up, which secured a nomination in the AMVCAs in 2015.
Jade continued her journey as a filmmaker by launching her own production company, TRIBE85 PRODUCTIONS, with the vision of telling African stories to a global audience. She is also the founder of Greoh Studios. Making her directorial debut with Isoken in 2017, she is also known for movies like Sugar Rush (2019), Brotherhood (2022), Gangs of Lagos (2023), and Christmas in Lagos (2024).
4. Awards

Jade Osiberu won the award for best director for Isoken at the 2018 AMVCAs. She also won Best Movie, West Africa, at the 2023 AMVCAs for the movie Brotherhood.
5. Personal Life
Jade broke the stereotype that was attached to single women. The pressure placed on her relationship status then inspired the movie “Isoken.”
She, however, found love and got married to her hubby in May 2019.

She welcomed her first child in August 2025.
