Woman Rides Motorcycle From Lagos To France For This Remarkable Reason

Judith Amadi, who recently embarked on a solo trip from Lagos to France on her motorcycle, has relived her experience, describing the journey as highly challenging.

Amadi began her journey on October 8, 2025, to raise ₦100 million to support cancer patients across Nigeria. Despite sustaining an injury to her finger in an accident in Burkina Faso, which required stitches, she remained resolute and completed the journey.

She spoke with newsmen in Lagos on Monday, Jan 12, when she was received at the Office of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) by its chairman/chief executive officer, Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa.

Amadi rode through several West African countries and across Europe to reach France before returning to Nigeria on January 3, completing the journey in two and a half months.

Her mission was clear: to raise awareness and financial support for cancer patients who are battling the disease in silence.

“I embarked on this journey to raise hope and financial support for people currently living with cancer to give them a reason to smile and to be a voice and light to those who are fighting in silence,” she said.

According to Amadi, the most frustrating and exhausting part of the journey was crossing borders, especially within West Africa.

“Trying to pass from one country to another with our Nigerian passport was a struggle. I would be waiting, and someone else with a different passport would just pass and go,” she said.

She described a system riddled with extortion, delays, and unnecessary bureaucracy.

Mrs. Dabiri-Erewa commended the exploit and courage of Ms. Amadi, saying she exhibited a typical Nigerian spirit.
