Justice Ekaette Obot Sworn In As New Acting Chief Judge Of Akwa Ibom State + Some Facts About Her


Justice Ekaette Obot has been named the new Acting Chief Judge of Akwa Ibom State.

She was sworn in on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at the Excos Chamber, Government House, Uyo by Governor Udom Emmanuel.

She succeeds Justice Godwin Abraham, who bowed out of office after 34 years of service having attained the mandatory retirement age of 65.

With her appointment, Obot becomes the 8th substantive Chief Judge and the third woman to occupy the office in the state.


Performing the oath of allegiance and office, Governor Udom congratulated Justice Ekaette Obot on her appointment and reassured the judiciary of his commitment to collaborate and support the third arm of government while thanking the former Chief Judges for their services to the State.
