Early Life

Kate Henshaw was born on 19 July 1971, in Calabar, Cross Rivers State, Nigeria. She is the first child in a family of four children.

Education

She had her primary and secondary education in Lagos and Calabar respectively. She later enrolled to read remedial studies at the University of Calabar, where she stayed for one year, after which she proceeded to the School of Medical Laboratory Science, Lagos University Teaching Hospital, from where she eventually bagged a degree in Medical microbiology. Kate Henshaw later worked at the Bauchi State general hospital.

Career

Kate Henshaw entered the world of acting in 1993 when she auditioned for an acting job in the movie “When the sun sets”. She was handed the role, which was her very first appearance in a major Nollywood movie. Since then she has featured in over 100 movies.

Personal life

Kate once dated popular gospel singer, Sammie Okposo years back.

In 1999, she got married to British-born Roderick James Nuttall. In 2000, Henshaw welcomed her daughter, Gabrielle Nuttall. In 2011, the couple reportedly filed for a divorce after 12 years of marriage.

Kate also had a beef with her long time friend, Stella Damascus which they settled in 2017.


Political Ambition

In 2015, Kate Henshaw contested for the House Representatives position in her constituency but sadly failed in the PDP Primary Election.

Later that year, she was appointed by the Cross River State Governor, Benedict Ayade as the Special Adviser, Liaison, Lagos.

Endorsements

Kate Henshaw is a brand ambassador for Blessings Perfume in the UK.

Kate is also a brand ambassador for telecommunications company, Globacom Limited.

The award-winning actress who is a judge on Nigeria’s Got Talent is also the face of Onga Seasoning.

In 2013, She landed a major endorsement deal with Samsung Mobile Nigeria.

In 2015, she won the ‘Best Actress award at  ZAFAA for her role in the movie ‘Iquo’s Journal.’

In 2015, she also won the City People Entertainment Nollywood Face Of The Year Award.

In 2016, she won the City People Entertainment Special Recognition Award.
