Kechi Okwuchi, one of the survivors of the 2005 Sosoliso plane crash, has just earned the Golden Buzzer from Simon Cowell on Monday following her performance on ‘America’s Got Talent: The Champions’.

The Golden Buzzer was introduced in season 9 of America’s Got Talent and its main purpose is to send a contestant into the next round regardless of other judges’ decision.

Okwuchi’s performance of ‘You Are The Reason’ by Callum Scott qualified her for the final of the spin-off show.

“I’m going, to be honest with you. I didn’t really like it that much,” judge Simon Cowell told Kechi before hitting the real Golden Buzzer. “I actually loved it!”

Kechi will be joined in the finals round by singer Brian Justin Crum, a finalist on Season 11 of “AGT,” who progressed through superfan votes from all 50 states.

Okwuchi was a participant in season 12 of AGT. She made it to the top 10 of the 2017 competition.
