The book centres on colorism, self-esteem, and learning that true beauty comes from within.

The main character is a 5-year-old girl growing up in Kenya, and her name is Sulwe. She has the darkest skin color in her family, and this makes her eager to try to get a lighter skin in any way possible.

With her adventures unfolding, and with support from her mothersm advice, Sulwe learns to see true beauty.

Sulwe is out October 1 and is available for pre-order effective from April 2nd 2019.
