Maliha Mohammed Biography

Maliha Mohammed has announced that she will attempt to break Hilda Baci’s cooking feat in August 2023. The Kenyan chef broke the Guinness Book of World Records for cooking nonstop for 75 hrs in August 2019 at Kenya Bay Beach resort in Mombasa.

She prepared a list of 400 recipes of local and international cuisines for the competition.

She has started her preparations to break Hilda Baci’s record by setting a cookathon for the date of May 26th where she will cook for 45hrs.

She has also called for a donation towards the event via her Instagram page.

1. Maliha Mohammed is 40 years old.

2. She was born and raised in Mombasa’s Old Town although her father is from Uganda and her Mother is from Tanzania.


3. Her passion for cooking began at the tender age of eight. She spent holidays with her late mother, father, and grandmother, honing her culinary skills.

4. Maliha is a self-taught cook who uses her knowledge to empower newly wedded women, housemaids, and girls.

5. Her culinary journey took a significant turn when she served as a cook in the palace of Saudi Arabian Prince Khalid Bin Mishail Al Saudh in Riyadh from 2009 to 2010, gaining invaluable experience.

8. She participated in a cook-a-thon at the Technical University Of Kenya and cooked for 36hrs nonstop on a weekend in May 2019 where she was able to prepare 100 meals.

9. She set the world record in August 2019 but couldn’t hold it for long as Lata London set a new cooking record in September 2019.

10. She is a culinary arts chef at Gourmet Academy 254 where she teaches culinary arts.

11. Maliha was awarded the Woman of Excellence in Tourism award by the Kenya Association of Women in Tourism (KAWT) in 2021.
