The survivor had her lungs destroyed by the virus and had no choice but to undergo the transplant when her lungs began to fail.

The pandemic has had diverse effects on people, and it was no shock that Mayra was scared for her life.

The doctors ensured to play their role and give her hope by assuring her that she would be in perfect health if the transplant goes right.

According to Mayra,
I couldn’t talk, I could barely lift a finger, I couldn’t move. I was in a lot of pain, I was very confused.”

She had the transplant while sick with coronavirus, and she says all she could remember was nightmares.
Some of the nightmares consisted of drowning and I attribute that to not being able to breath.”

The doctors attribute the transplant process’s success to the fact that she is young and never had any bad medical history as she is just 28 years old.

Mayra advises people, saying:

This is not a hoax, the virus is real, it happened to me.”
