
During a life session with media personality Betty Irabor, Mmanti Umoh shared her many life trials and how she managed to overcome them.
She was born a dwarf, raped consistently from age 2 by two family members, gave birth to twins from rape by a mentor, and was chained and held captive by a Rev. “for being a child witch” until she managed to escape.
Speaking about her experiences, she said, “I remain unbroken, and I have not lost ME despite everything I went through.”
Mmanti also stated that her unwavering determination to find positive outcomes in every challenging situation has sustained her.

Mmanti Umoh serves governments, multinational organizations, and private sector institutions across Africa on issues of economic development, growth strategies, holistic education transformations, and human capital investment decisions.
She also works with key public, private, and social sector institutions to accelerate growth and development in Africa.
As part of her drive to bring teens and women’s perspectives into core development issues, she co-founded the Professional & Entrepreneurial Women Network of Nigeria (PEWNN) and TeenNation.
She is the host of the PurpleConnect Series, which bridges the gap between professionals, startups, and industry leaders, and #SheVoices, a platform that amplifies the voices of women and encourages their participation in various sectors.
She has interests in social inclusion and civic engagement, not-for-profit governance, and social applications of new technology.
