1. Anambra Panel finds Mmesoma guilty of falsifying her UTME result

The committee of inquiry set up by the Anambra State Government to look into the examination fraud involving Mmesoma Ejikeme has confirmed that she manipulated her Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination result, giving herself a score of 362 as against an actual score of 249.

Governor Chukwuma Soludo had formed an inquiry commission to investigate the situation. According to the Committee’s eight-page report, Mmesoma, a student at Anglican Girls Secondary School in Nnewi acknowledged manipulating the bogus result herself using her phone.

2. I support sanctions imposed by JAMB –Oby Ezekwesil

Obiageli Ezekwesili, a former education minister, has reacted to the findings of the Anambra State governor’s committee set up to probe the controversy between the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, and Ejikeme Mmesoma over her UTME result.

Ezekwesili stated that she supports the JAMB sanctions imposed on her, claiming that they will serve as a deterrence to everyone who participates in the nation’s educational system’s widespread exam malpractices.

She also said she is satisfied with the process and the findings of committee which gave Mmesoma a fair hearing via her Twitter handle on Saturday.

3. Mmesoma’s father apologises, begs JAMB, Nigerians, to forgive daughter

Mr. Romanus Ejikeme has publicly apologized to the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) and Nigerians regarding his daughter’s certificate forgery.

In a video interview with Nigerian Television Authority, he alleged his daughter lied to him; now that he knows the truth, he hoped JAMB would pardon his daughter.

4. Innoson Withdraws Scholarship Awarded to Mmesoma

Innoson has withdrawn the 3 million scholarship it awarded to Mmesoma Ejikeme. This was made known by the Head of Corporate Communications and Affairs, Innoson Group, Cornel Osigwe, on Saturday.

Osigwe said the company has been involved in the process of investigating allegations surrounding the 2023 UTME examination results Ejikeme.

“In line with these principles and in response to the confirmed findings, we have made the difficult decision to withdraw the scholarship awarded to Miss Joy Mmesoma Ejikeme. This action is a testament to our unyielding commitment to honesty, integrity, and merit-based recognition.


“We acknowledge that this development is regrettable, and it has undoubtedly caused dismay among those who stood by Miss Joy including her school principal and other well-meaning supporters. However, it is crucial to maintain the integrity of our scholarship program and the values it represents,” he said.
