A 21-year-old lady has created a buzz online for her innovative business, ‘Garri Parfait’ which she calls Garfait.

Just like Parfait, Garfait is a combination of Garri, milk, sugar, and toppings.

Maureen Emenike, a 400-level student of Abia State University took to Facebook to showcase the branded innovation.

Maureen who is also a writer revealed how her parents prevented her from drinking garri because they felt it was for the poor people.

She wrote:

As a child, my parents didn’t let me take garri. They, like most Nigerians believe garri is a meal for poor people who have no meal options.

Growing up, I began to randomly crave garri. I didn’t see it as a “Sapa” meal. If anything, I hold something as universal and available as garri in high esteem.

I believe garri deserves more respect. Which is why I have decided to crown it King!
Ladies and gentlemen, behold Garfait! A rich combination of Garri, milk, sugar and toppings. Your saving grace when hunger comes knocking. Just add water!
Garfait… taking the sapa from garri

Maureen is the second child out of five children and hails from Uzuakoli, Bende LGA in Abia State. A serial entrepreneur, she runs two businesses; ME Foods (which she has run for close to two years) and ME Essentials. She also has two published books to her name.
Her idea was however met with mixed reactions on social media.
