1.Early Life

Nse was born on the 21st of October, 1974 in Akwa Ibom as the first of six children in the Southern part of Nigeria. Etim attended Awa Nursery School and Command Primary School in Kaduna state (Northern part of Nigeria). Her family was often transferred to various regions of Nigeria due to her father’s career with the Central Bank of Nigeria.

She went on to have her secondary education at St. Louis College, Jos and the Federal Government Colleges in Jos and Ilorin.

She got a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Calabar.

2.Career

At 18, Nse started acting in stage plays at the university. Her first television appearance was in the family soap, Inheritance. Due to her love for media, she worked briefly as an On-Air Personality at Rythm and Cool FM.

Nse has featured in over 50 movies including blockbusters like Reloaded, Mr and Mrs, Phone Swap, Bursting out, A Trip To Jamaica amongst many other movies which got several awards. She also featured in one of Akin’s musical video.


3.Personal Life

Nse got married to her childhood friend, Clifford Sule on 14 February 2013 at a Lagos registry. A traditional wedding ceremony also held in Akwa Ibom State and Lagos State, respectively. She currently shuttles between Nigeria and London where her husband, lectures. Sule is a Senior Lecturer at Middlesex University, UK.

In May 2019, she announced that she was unable to have children having removed her womb.

Nse Ikpe Etim has featured in several movies that have earned her major nominations and awards in the movie industry.

She won the Best Actress Film/Short Story for Reloaded and Guilty Pleasures at the 2010 edition of Nigerian Entertainment Awards.

She got the Best Actress in a Lead Role for the movie, Mr and Mrs at the 2011 BON Awards.

Nse won the  Best Actress in a Supporting Role in Kiss and Tell at Nollywood Movies Awards and Best Lead Actress in an English Movie in the movie, Phone Swap in 2012 at BON Awards both in 2012.

In 2014 she won Best Actress in a Drama at the Africa Magic Movie Awards for the movie Journey to Self.

She won Best Actress in a Leading Role (English) and Best Kiss In A Movie at the BON Awards for the movies, Stolen Waters and Best Actress for the movie, Stalker at the Golden Icons Academy Movie Awards both in 2015.

Nse Ikpe Etim is one of the most influential and successful actresses in Nigeria. She’s worth a whooping sum of $600,000.
