Nigerian-American actress, Sope Aluko who has been praised for her Black Panther role as the shaman — a Wakandan spiritual leader has proven once again that black people can be intellectuals.

Just when she is celebrating being cast in another highly anticipated superhero movie, Venom, the Florida county where she lives with her two sons has decided to dedicate a whole day to her.

This was done in a bid to celebrate her steady rise in Hollywood and according to the news Aluko excitedly shared on her Instagram, Miami-Dade County has proclaimed April 10, 2018, as Sope Aluko Day — an honour she was presented by the county’s mayor and vice chairwoman.

The proclamation, which was signed by the county’s mayor, chairman and vice chairwoman, stated:

“It is fitting and proper that official acknowledgement be given to this stellar actress for her wonderful achievements and accomplishments.”.
